Dispute Resolution

Dispute 101: Understanding the Basics

When a dispute arises between a provider and a client regarding the terms of their CDN service, the parties can attempt to resolve the dispute directly. However, if the dispute cannot be resolved, it may be escalated to the Media Network DAO for further review and resolution.

The DAO acts as a neutral third party that can review the dispute, gather information, and decides based on the evidence presented. One of the advantages of using a DAO to resolve disputes is that it is decentralized and autonomous, meaning that no central authority or intermediary controls the process. Decisions are made by the community, which ensures that the protocol remains decentralized and resistant to censorship. Additionally, blockchain technology provides a secure and efficient way to resolve disputes by ensuring that the process is transparent and tamper-proof.

MEDIA Token

In addition to the steps outlined in the table above, disputes can also be resolved through voting using MEDIA tokens. Members of the Media Network DAO, who hold MEDIA tokens, can vote on the resolution of a dispute. The decision is made based on the majority vote of the token holders. This ensures that the community has a direct say in the resolution of disputes and promotes decentralization and autonomy.

Disclaimer

Media Network is a peer-to-peer marketplace for Content Delivery Network (CDN) services. In a decentralized network, there is no central authority to e decisions or enforce resolutions. Instead, disputes are typically resolved through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) acting as a community-based governance system. The Media Foundation acts as a provider within this marketplace and does not possess the power of a central authority. As such, the protocol’s creators, the foundation, or any other parties do not have the right and way to intervene in disputes between providers and clients. It is the responsibility of providers and clients to resolve any potential disputes through good-faith negotiations. Providers and clients may primarily resort to utilizing the DAO for formal dispute resolution if a dispute arises. By participating in the Media Network marketplace, you agree that you are required to resolve all disputes between the parties using the DAO.
